web20.gif In 1997 we launched our first website, dedicated to the then newborn game engine Real Virtuality. Ten years later, it's the perfect time to provide something more than a static web design.

Despite the fact that we've made many advances on the gaming technology side, our websites were pretty static until today. We finally have a web platform that will allow us to have a dynamic interaction with our users. Together with our community wiki and forums, this should mean our web site is now what we can pretty much call Web 2.0 . Now let's see how often we will really be able to provide you with news posts and blog posts, we hope you will like the new functionality and enjoy reading our blogs as much as we enjoy writing them for you right now.

This is how our very first web page looked like:

Our first website from 1997

Despite the fact our website had become bigger and covering more areas and products, one thing that didn't change until now: the website was static and didn't allow us to edit and grow content easily, driven by various authors, the content was mixed with layout.

The new site is designed to provide us with a tool to communicate with our users directly. Our intention is to not only keep all information there up to date but also to write developer's blogs to give you more of an insider view of Bohemia Interactive.

We hope to go even further in future and create some user centric features on the website and we will be also monitoring the website usage extensively to find out what areas are the most important for our visitors.

In other news, Placebo, the former BI Community Manager, returns to the community in the same role, to help us with what's needed to make the BI community again a pleasant place to be in.

Czech Translation of Bistudio website
Zdravím, web má již teď českou lokalizaci, viz vlaječka vpravo nahoře. Bohužel, s překladem všech článků zatím moc nepočítáme, opravdu jen ty nejpodstatnější věci.
