Page 2 of 2 No.3 4GB + High Memory
While I feel your pain, no, we do not know it is a bug in our engine, and no, we are not coding too close to the hardware, and yes, we are using only standard APIs (namely DirectX 9 + Win32 API).
Based on the fact the games seems to work with older nVidia drivers and the issue seems to be limited to nVidia cards, and to Vista only, I assume the problem is caused by the nVidia drivers for Vista.
Given how many problems there currently are in Vista with various drivers and games, we are not willing to spend our time debugging the problem.
I am afraid if you want the problem to be solved, you should perhaps contact the support of nVidia.
No.2 when finally your embarrissing 4GB+ High Memory Bug
When will you fix the 4GB bug?! you know that it is a bug in your engine you know about and you cannot hide under the carpet. Maybe you should learn not coding TOO CLOSE on the hardware. there is a reason for standards! we are matching the package's requirements but your product does not work. you said minimal windows5.0 (some using windows6.x) you said minimal 9500 (some using HD2900XT), you said minimal 1gb (we are using 4gb or even more). there is NO indicatoin about MAXIMUM versions, maximum vid cardgenerations and maximum memoryconfiguration.
Congratulation! You made the ONLY product on this globe which is compatible to present technology.
congrats
